About

What is this trip all about?
It all started when we decided we wanted to do something fun and travel somewhere new. We looked at plane tickets for Australia, road trip in the US. Considered traveling Europe.

After a while, we found out none of us had actually seen much of Norway. We decided to tour Norway, buy a wreck and see how far the car would be able to take us.

What are your plans?
Well, we will try catching some good weather, hopefully going west, then turn our heads north and aim for Lofoten or Tromsø.

What's with the website?

We were asked by multiple people to document the trip, and thought why not do it online. While brainstorming, we decided to make website where we would upload photos, video and written blogs as we went. To make it more interesting we wanted to make it interactive, enabling the reader to participate in polls, contests and even suggesting what we should do on the trip.

Among the things we plan on doing are living of things we find by the road for a whole day, experience Trollstigen on a kick scooter, and making a three course meal on a portable stove.

Promo Video

The promo video is here.

5.1 Surround

The original stereo with cardboard speakers isn't exactly great sounding. Not that it usually want to make any sound at all.

Since I installed a power converter a couple of days back, I thought I'd try putting a Logitech 5.1 sound system, which I had laying around, in the car.

I'll have to find a better way locating and fastening the speakers. But now we are able to listen to music and audiobooks while driving.

The very first post

So basically this is the ride.
_MG_7061

It's a 28 year old Mercedes 240TD packing a massive 72 horsepower. 28 years ago that was.

The reason we bought the car was this: Lot's of space, a bulletproof (and hopefully everlasting) engine, german craftmansship and a slight love for the w123's.

Though it is to be said, it's a bit rusty.

Which over the years resulted in a build up of dirt in the spare tire compartment.

But after René and I did some minor tweaking, it rides like a charm. (still doesn't look like one though.)
