Monday morning we were once again woken up by the local sheep. On the upside the beach we slept on looked like a postcard with it’s white sand, green grass and its surrounding mountains. The weather was perfect so we ate some oatmeal and headed for Reinebringen, a 2200feet mountain near Moskenes. We started at sea level and found the climb to be more challenging than expected. First of all the trail up was so steep it made walking in the Alps feel like a walk in the park. Second, the trail was dry and the dirt made it really slippery. On top of this Markus had a fear of heights, or respect as he calls it. This made the 3 feet wide part of the ridge – with a almost 1000 feet drop on each side - quite interesting. On the bright side we survived, not the mention the view from the top was stunning. When we arrived at the top, there was no wind, and the sky were blue, but best of all was no fog. Since our lunch packs weren’t too big we ended up picking cloudberries (Rubus chamaemorus) we found right below the summit. Happy we started on the walk to get back to sea level and the car. When we got in the car we decided to head for Å, a place on the southwest end of Lofoten. But upon arrival we discovered there wasn’t anything of interest there. So we drove back to our postcard beach. After spending and hour or two making food, we went a head and played beach croquet. Markus made the course, which started in a bush, then crossed the beach, over flowers and headed for the water. On of the hoops were located by the water, this turned out to be very interesting due to the raising tide, and the fact that the balls were buoyant. It took lots of effort getting the ball through the almost submerged hoop, and back on dry land. When we finished we could both conclude this had to be one of the most interesting croquet matches ever played. Tired from the long and exhausting day we headed for the sleeping bags, to fall asleep to the sound of crushing waves and bleating sheep.

Were we started the walk.

Dinner.

Eating dinner from our last Winnie the Pooh plate.
Woow, nydelige bilder og tallerken =) bra dere hadde oversikt på hvor mange som kom til å gå med i løpet av turen, snakk om nøye planlegging. Pakker du Afrikakofferten min også eller?
