We woke up and it had once again gotten cloudy. After checking the weather forecast we decided we might as well pack our stuff, leave the beautiful beach and head north. Since René had been the one fighting the waves last time we did the dishes, it was Markus' turn to wade in to the freezing arctic water to do yesterdays dishes. If anyone of you have ever alleged that doing dishes by hand in the sink is a traumatic experience, well, you should try doing them standing in the freezing water, being hit by waves. Thats a traumatic experience! When Markus' body temperature was reaching the freezing-point we jumped in the car and drove the few miles to Leknes. We parked outside the local food store to by breakfast and upload videos for a couple of hours. When the video was uploaded we drove to Svolvær where René lost yet another bet. This time Markus had claimed it would take them 40 minutes to drive the 55km to Svolvær, René meant it would take 45minutes. To René huge frustration we arrived in Svolvær after 42 minutes and 14,9 seconds. After hours behind the wheel we met three trucks carrying windmill parts. We saw foxes crossing the road and as the day turned in to night we arrived in Narvik. It was a surprisingly pretty city, we ended up putting up the tent near a war memorial site just south of the city.
The beach we left.
Windmill parts.
The sunset just North of Narvik.
